Here is where I start to share some of the author responses. Instead of taking up more room to have them
in paragraphs, I smashed them together – the … is where I skipped some of the
response.
So here we go – the first response I got was from Lynne Reid
Banks. Here is some of what she
wrote. “My mouse is giving
me grief so forgive me if I reply briefly – I’m so glad you like ‘The
Farthest-Away Mountain’ – it was my second children’s book, the first where I
made everything up, even the names. (My first children’s book was ‘The
Adventures of King Midas’ which of course was only partly original!)…I think
choosing to write to a writer or poet every day is a wonderful choice. I hope
they all reply and give you satisfaction. Best wishes, and thanks for writing to me,
Lynne Reid Banks.”
The second one I received, and one of my favorites, was
from Lois Walfrid Johnson. “Dear Megan, I'm sorry for my delay. I just found this. My
husband fell and was badly hurt, but I'm relieved to say that he's doing better
now. I'm still catching up.
Thank you so much for writing.
I’m glad that you wanted to write to an author…It’s terrific that you want to
be a writer. The Lord called me to be a writer when I was 9 ½ and I never lost
that sense of being called to write for him. I hope you continue in the same
way and that the writing tips on my website were helpful to you. You’re doing
great to have a blog for your Bible study notes and also a blog for young
writers. Wow! If you’re doing this every
day for 23 days I suspect I’ve held you up, and starting tomorrow morning we’ll
be traveling. But I want you to know how much I appreciate you and the way you
have already set goals for yourself. May the Lord bless your writing in great
and awesome ways! Love and hugs-- Lois
Deut. 31:8”
She was so sweet, I had to write back again,
especially since it was as easy as sending an email. Her second response was just a sweet as the
first. Next was from Christine
Harris. “..Thanks for writing to me. I am glad you like the series…So you like
intriguing stories. What do you think makes a book 'intriguing'? As a
writer yourself, how would you create a sense of mystery? Regards, Christine
Harris, author”
Yvonne Harris was next. “Hi
Megan, Thank you for writing to me and letting me know that you enjoyed reading
my White Dove novels. You are a writer,
obviously, since your work is already being published. Congratulations. I wish
you ever success in your life and writing.
Hope your project goes well. All
good wishes, Yvonne”
Then there was Patricia H. Rushford.
“Hi Megan, Thanks so much for writing. I'm glad you have enjoyed the
Jennie McGrady books. Congratulations of your publications. That's amazing.
Keep writing. I'm excited for you and hope you continue to pursue your goals…Anyway--I'm
glad you took the time to write. Blessings, Pat”
Nancy Rue was also kind to
reply. “Well, Megan, I am truly honored
to be included among the authors you're writing to… So glad to hear that you're
going to put your faith to work through writing. You're already published so
you may not need basic writing tips, but if you do, you might want to visit my
website, which is www.nancyrue.com. Thanks again for including me on your
author list! Blessings, Nancy Rue”
L.M. Elliott’s was short and sweet. “Megan, that is about the nicest email I have
received in months! Thank you so very much.”
Well, that’s all for now!
More to come!
